I got around to sending in the 2 pairs of floral-inspired earrings I made for Crafted With Love some time ago, together with my promo pieces, and now they're up on the site, available for purchase!
I know they're a bit pricier than usual, but these aren't the usual kinds of earrings I make - and they're one-of-a-kind and exclusive to CWL :) I do hope that, with the sending out of press kits soon, CWL will find greater exposure and be able to appeal to people who may not care to donate directly but who might do so indirectly by buying the items. (This brings me to an issue about which I'm quite aghast - that animal charities don't enjoy as much publicity or support as the human ones. It's a long argument.)
So I've been going to bed at like 3am for the past few weeks. Dunno why, but there just seems to be so much to do. Will try to snooze soon - I need to break out of this destructive cycle.

Here are 7 tiny pairs of earrings in my favourite style of the moment: the Neoterica Minis with (clockwise from front left) aventurine, African turquoise, turquoise, lapis lazuli, onyx, tiger eye and rhodochrosite 4mm gems.
I created them last weekend as promos, to be packaged with press releases from Crafted With Love. I never knew how tiring and repetitive it is to "mass produce" things, coz this isn't the way I usually work. As with all hand-forged earring components I make, the hardest and boringest bit to get through was the filing and rounding off of wire ends. Anyway - I'm quite happy with them and it'll be interesting to see what happens...

Just a short note to say that the latest Crafted With Love newsletter, which I helped with writing, was sent yesterday evening, along with an interview with me on their new blog :) It was strange to write about myself though.
In other news, I have finally managed to reinstate my pierced ears! The right one was OK, but I knew the left needed a bit of work. I'd tried several weeks ago and drew a little blood. I had them done when I was about 6 (obviously, I had no say in the matter) but stopped wearing earrings about 10-12 years ago. I'm pretty paranoid about them snagging on clothes or towels. I was ecstatic that I'd be able to wear all the pretty earrings I've been admiring, but I realised that on most days, I'm either working at home or going to yoga classes. And I hate wearing any kind of jewellery during a yoga practice. Is my euphoria short-lived? O.o

At Crafted With Love, you can find various goodies contributed by indie crafters, with sales proceeds going to (no-kill: very important!) animal shelter groups. And CWL is currently working with Action For Singapore Dogs.
I've contributed 4 items, 2 of which have been created specially for CWL:
Check these out along with other handcrafted accessories at Crafted With Love!
