Everybody, please join me in a collective expression of unspeakable disbelief that it is - horrors - already June. 20-bloody-10. Yes. OMGWTFBBQ?

Now we've got that over with, I thought I'd check in on my crusty old jewellery blog. The reason why there haven't been any updates is partly because I didn't feel like making anything new, and partly because I have been flirting with hermitry. The month of May completely disappeared into some vortex of a great time in Hokkaido and bonding with my PS3. But I was taking stock of my cluttered work area, thinking of tidying it up (so I can actually see the table beneath y'know?), when I just happened to uh, rustle up a couple of new pieces.

I started with the June birthstone: the ever-elegant pearl. They can be rather fragile, but I like how they always add an organic touch to any piece. Each of these keishi pebbles is uniquely shaped and has an almost iridescent lustre:

By her who in June was born
No gem save pearls shall be worn
They will ensure her constancy
True friendship and fidelity.
(from an old poem)

Let's see... there's also a necklace, which I promptly decided to feature in my new blog and Etsy shop banners (hope you like the semi-new look - I certainly do). I was having some fun with acrylics and lacquers a couple of months back, but to my utmost shame, never did anything with the brass findings I managed to transform. Look out for it in the days to come.

As always, I so wish I had a magic wand to materialise my visions. Honestly, I've been quite tired of the execution step, so 70% of the designs in my head don't ever see fruition. But maybe I'm just scared. One of these days I might make another itty-bitty charm bracelet just for the pain of it.

And the recalcitrant work desk is still cluttered.

Yeah, I want to know the same thing. Like in the Talking Heads song: How did I get here?

Been dry design wise over on this side of the world too. Just can't get into making things. May disappeared and now I could basically could care less. The big E only wants to help promote their faves anyway.

But I do like your earrings and the banner is awesome!!

Thank you Ginger, you've always been so supportive. And as you know, I too have grown indifferent towards E. But I guess when ideas run dry one can always go back to basics, no? At least, that's my plan! Don't tell :P
