I'm so much happier with my Etsy photos ever since I switched to taking them in natural light. I do own a lighting tent but it's fiddly and probably doesn't fit the taller of my 2 display busts. Plus the fact that I haven't got bright enough lamps and a macro lens for my dSLR yet. I cringe when I look at my older photos :(

Anyway, indirect daylight seems to make the objects appear more realistic and touchable. The quality of light is more intimate. The big downside is, of course, having a very narrow window in which to operate. It must not be overcast, raining, obviously not night, and I prefer to have the light coming in from the living room windows, since these are the largest in the house. Which means I can probably only shoot during afternoons, if the weather's good. Which it hasn't been.

As for supplies, well I get bored with what I have very fast. Which explains why I bead-shop so frequently and make things that are so different. I'm impatiently awaiting several shipments of new gems, pearls and silver. Yum. I should probably start planning my fall/winter items soon, but I have a ton of paperwork and a website to attend to which I keep procrastinating on. I hate accounting. And I want a bigger desk.
