AquaticaWell, for the first time in 2 weeks, I listed something at my Etsy shop. The Aquatica earrings feature must-have aqua chalcedony marquise briolettes wrapped in Argentium sterling silver on my new petite earwires. Loves them. Thought of oxidising them but shiny can be good.

So I was browsing around and suddenly realised the number of listings per page has increased from 15 to 21. WTH? Does that actually help? Wait, maybe... it's come to my attention that my backgrounds are all so hideously mismatched! There are too many different colours there. Unfortunately I don't think I can spare any time to reshoot old items.

P.S. these earrings are also available from my online boutique :)

Oooh! So pretty! I just got one of those chalcedony briolettes and have been wondering what to do with it. So far I haven't come up with anything I like enough, but I think you came up with something great-- the stone is so pretty on its own that extra embellishment might detract.

Congrats on your new shop-- it looks great!

Very, very pretty!

I need to work on consistency. I have trouble finding a single background that works with every piece though. I'm stumped as to what to do. Oh, well.

How are sales from your website? You have such pretty pieces they ought to go like hotcakes!

Thanks, Chris!

Ginger, I don't actually think having that many different backgrounds is bad, as long as the subject of the photo is clearly in focus and framed/composed in such a way that you really don't notice the background (too much). For me, I'm just trying to stick with ones that aresn't too contrasty these days and find that this greyish-blue one just happens to make everything I put on it pop out really well.
