OK, so it's official - I have just had to file my first claim for a lost package.
Someone bought and paid for something which I sent out in June, but all this while, she hasn't received it. I'd been keeping in touch with her and then requesting Singpost to trace the durned thing, but apparently once it left Singapore for Sydney, there's been neither hide nor hair of it. Strange that, because my shipments to Australia and the UK usually take only about a week if they're going to a major city. And the postal administration took a ruddy long time getting back to me too!
I've refunded the payment and am so thankful that this customer has been super patient and understanding the whole time. Instead of flying off into a rage or something, she even apologised for causing "trouble". Hmmm. I do feel bad, because I can imagine being disappointed at not receiving something I wanted so much that I bought it. What I don't understand is how these things can get "lost" though. They can't disappear into thin air. Someone probably misplaced or stole it! *mutter*
Moral of the story - always use registered post.
