It was already past 6pm and the light was fading, but I was so pleased with how my Anemone earrings turned out today that I wanted to sneak a couple of shots first. I had better, truer-to-life colour and lighting with my dSLR (I shoot with both these days, and compare how they turn out). Will have to reshoot more tomorrow.

Here I've combined gorgeous deep London blue topaz with clusters of ocean blue apatite and my favourite pink topaz. These earrings are really petite; the briolettes are only 8mm across and the rondelles are about 2.5mm each. But they are perfect for someone who digs understated brilliance. I'm so tempted to keep them!

At times like this, I really like the fact that I make my own earwires, because then I have complete control over the proportions of the whole piece. I don't understand long earwires with long dangly earrings, or combinations that lack focus because the components don't have enough of a contrast.
